In many vehicles, a clutch is needed to disconnect the gearbox from the engine. The clutch enables us to smoothly engage the spinning engine shaft to a non-spinning transmission by controlling the slippage between them ,over time these parts wear as these are one of the main parts which transfers engine power to motion , Common first signs of its deterioration are vibration and shudder when moving off from a stand still , clutch slip ,hard to get into gear ,high clutch pedal
We only supply and fit quality clutch kits which come from such companies as Blueprint ,SACHS , Valeo and Borg & Beck ,or you can bring your own clutch which we will fit at very competitive prices
TIMING BELTS & KITS
The timing belt is an integral part of the engine of every car, as it assists in the efficient running of the engine.
If your timing belt snaps or slips it can cause considerable damage to the rest of the engine. It is essential that early detection of any issue with the timing belt or any of its guides and tensioners are identified. Most vehicle manufacturer's also recommend that the water pump be changed at the same time as the timing belt .

NCT PREP & REPAIR
Rather than carrying out potentially unnecessary work on your car in advance of the NCT, we recommend you bring your car for NCT first. Should it fail, you can then bring the car into us with the NCT report and we can address the specific issues. This approach is designed to avoid speculative expenditure on work that may not be necessary. Call in for a free lights, levels , brakes and tyres check
A Few Reminders:
- Remove your hub caps.
- Have a quick look to make sure your side lights, head lights, indicators & fog light works correctly. Ask a friend to check the brake lights as you press the pedal.
- Ensure doors open/close/lock effectively and that the bonnet opens correctly
- Make sure your engine is warm before you go for the test. Your engine performs best when it is at normal operating temperature
If You Fail
If you fail the test, ask them exactly why. Often the NCT do not give a clear explanation and it is important that they explain to you exactly why you have failed. Then you can come to us with the NCT report and we will be able to address the problem for you very quickly.
OIL & FILTER CHANGE
This is one of the most important things you can do to keep your engine in top condition especially with todays super efficient diesel and petrol engines , Your vehicle's engine has hundreds of moving parts in it. These parts cause friction when they rub against each other and the friction, in turn, causes massive amounts of heat in your engine. To protect against all of this friction and heat, we introduce lubricating oil into the engine. The oil has two jobs in the engine. One is to reduce the amount of friction by putting a layer of oil between the moving parts and the other is to help cool the parts of the engine as it circulates through.
If there were no oil in your engine, the moving parts would create so much heat that they would eventually melt together causing the engine to lock up. Once those engine parts melt together, there is no getting them apart. So we can all agree that the oil in your engine is pretty important. But why change the oil? Isn't the oil that came with the vehicle good enough? The answer is no, and here is why...
Over time, oil breaks down. There are many factors that contribute to the breakdown of the oil in your engine, but heat is the biggest contributing factor. In addition to the breakdown of the oil itself, there are also additives that are put in engine oil. These begin to break down and lose their effectiveness over time. There is also the issue of contamination. Small bits of dust, dirt and debris get into your engine and make their way into the oil. All these little bits of "stuff" make the oil much less slippery and much less effective at cushioning the moving parts of the engine.
So, how often should you change the oil? Most technicians recommend that you get an oil change every 3000 miles for maximum engine protection. Check your vehicle's owner's manual for the recommendations for your specific vehicle. Some manuals recommend an oil change every 7500 miles under certain driving conditions. Make sure your driving meets those conditions before you decide to risk waiting that long for an oil change. BATTERIES
Your car's starting and charging systems and the battery help ensure dependable vehicle operation whenever you drive your car and in all sorts of driving conditions.
Your car battery stores electrical energy and the starter converts that energy into mechanical force to turn the engine for starting. The alternator produces electric current to replace what the starter used from the battery during start-up and to support electrical loads when the engine is running.
Driving habits such as frequent engine on/off cycles will cause more wear on the starter than a simple trip back and forth to work.
Other factors include:
- Driving in extreme weather conditions (hot and cold)
- Mileage
- Vehicle Age
- Extensive electrical draws like in-vehicle entertainment systems
For safe operation of your vehicle, keep your electrical system fully charged.
